The Benefits of ARTglass

Printed on 300gsm fine art paper, each print is individually signed and numbered by Anna and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.

Mounted in an off-white double mount and supplied acetate wrapped.

FRAMED OPTION 1

The framed print is mounted as described and then framed in a 3.7cm moulding with a pewter coloured finish. Supplied strung and ready to hang.

FRAMED OPTION 2

The framed print is mounted as described and then framed in a 4.7cm scooped moulding with a white painted finish. Supplied strung and ready to hang.

WHAT IS ARTGLASS?

Standard picture framing glass is called float glass. This glass is used by the majority of picture framers and is perfectly acceptable for use when framing most limited edition prints but it does cause reflection and impurities in the glass cause the framed image to appear duller than intended.

To overcome these compromises we offer all our limited editions with the option of been fitted with a speciality glass called ARTglass designed to reduce reflection and improve clarity.
Unlike 'non-reflective' glass which is etched to reduce reflection but has a cloudy appearance as a result, ARTglass is coated with a high-tech film, reducing reflection whilst adding clarity.
The example shown here is an actual scan of a print framed with ARTglass in the left half of the frame and standard glass in the right half. This image has not been altered or enhanced in any way and clearly shows how ARTglass improves the clarity and vibrancy of the print. From certain viewing angles it appears that the glass is invisible.

Scottish artist and illustrator, Anna, grew up exploring the scenic countryside and wildlife of Dumfries and Galloway. It's clear to see that her rural upbringing has inspired her characterful works; shaped as they are by her love of drawing, collage, and textile, along with the whimsy she finds in our natural world.

Anna explored her rural influences whilst studying at Edinburgh College of Art and has since developed her now trademark approach using Indian ink, fabric, feathers and paint. She now lives back home, where she grew up, and works from her studio, which is a treasure trove of ink pots, fabric scraps, feathers and paint.

Animals provide the main focus of her inspiration, and she uses bold inky lines to capture their playfulness and character, incorporating fabric and feathers to bring colour, pattern and texture. Her works often include a witty caption, adding to the joy of the creation.

Her work has been widely collected and featured in publications such as House and Garden, Country Life, and Artists & Illustrators.

For your convenience, our courier APC will email you on the day of delivery with an estimated time slot. We have worked with APC for many years, and pack all framed and mounted artwork with extreme care.

If the item is unused, in its original condition and packaging, and accompanied by valid proof of purchase, we’ll offer a full refund (including delivery charge).
