Collection: Ged Mitchell

Born in Manchester, December 1956, contemporary artist Ged Mitchell has enjoyed a successful career in the art business for some 40 years, with work in collections throughout the UK and abroad.

In the early years, with no formal training, Ged chose landscape as his main subject and watercolour his preferred medium. He quickly developed a recognised style, enjoyed by art lovers and galleries alike.

In 1985, his decision to become a professional artist was not without its challenges, but the passion to create and succeed spurred him on and continues to do so to this day.

His willingness to take risks, has never wavered. He would venture into the unknown, pursuing unique and interesting ways to be creative and in doing so, prolonged his already extensive career. Reinvention is something he believes is necessary in order to evolve and flourish, and Ged has now been running his own gallery and studio on the Cheshire/Staffordshire border for the last 15 years, refining his style and range of techniques in his new medium of choice: acrylic.
